Children's Books Wish List
"The Light One Little Candle Foundation"
was initiated by
Dr. Joelle Pauporte, a young working mom, doctor and breast cancer patient,
who sadly lost her fight with cancer in 2005.
She found so much comfort and joy in sharing the gift of reading with her young daughter, that she set up the 'One Little Candle Foundation', so that other families might find that loving, bonding connection.
Along with the inspiration of people like Dr. Pauporte,
we've met and spoken with many people who have shared an interested in sponsoring our
"Adopt-a-Book Program"
Our wish list includes books geared toward young people, whether they are the cancer patients, or children of a family that has been affected by cancer. If you know of a family that would love to have books to read between themselves, or to learn about cancer and coping with cancer, please feel free to check out our list for suggestions.
We've also met many people with many other various needs. In time, we'd like to grow our children's library to include books that could help those children find answers to their questions as well.
